Try the CRM.

The module below shows the two views that carry the daily work: time tracking and the pipeline. The menu structure on the left is the real one. It is the actual design decision.

Time tracking is not a billing tool but a mirror. Two clicks and done. If it takes longer than ten seconds, nobody does it.

This is a demo. Companies, mandates, hours and amounts are made up. There is no login, no database and no connection to the live CRM.

Things to try: Log time against a mandate, remove it again and move a quote one stage along in the pipeline.

The interface of this demo is in German.

Zeit

Woran?

  • Betreuung Beispiel AG
  • Kampagne Frühling Muster GmbH
  • Website neu Vorlage AG
  • Messung Beispiel Holding

Zwei Klicks, fertig.

Why not an off-the-shelf CRM

A ready-made CRM forces your own workflow into someone else’s grid. In a company with one salesperson, maintaining it takes more time than selling. At some point you stop maintaining it. A CRM that is not maintained is worse than none, because you still believe it.

How it is tailored

Time tracking is not a billing tool but a mirror. I want to know which hours went where. Logging time has to work on a phone between two meetings. If it takes longer than ten seconds, nobody does it, and then the whole system is worthless.

Everything else follows from this. Four items sit in the bar, and that is the daily route. The rest is grouped behind them.

Where the work was

The work was not in the interface but in the data model. One person can belong to several companies. Two records must be mergeable, with a way back. Every change needs a log.

Then there is a question nobody asks at the start: what happens when the system has to serve more than one company? Whoever asks it too late rewrites every query.
