Slides from a text template.

A generator that builds editable pitch slides from a text file.

Try the generator.

On the left is the copy template, on the right the slides. The format on the left is the real one: lines with TITEL (title), TEXT, GRAFIK (graphic) and NOTIZEN (notes), one block per slide.

The text file is the only source. If a sentence changes, the generator runs again and the slides are correct again.

The graphics are drawn shapes, not images. In real use, they are native objects in the PowerPoint file, so the creative team can move them themselves.

This is a demo. Client, industry and slide content are made up. This demo does not build a file. It draws the slides in the browser.

Things to try: Change a sentence in the copy template and rebuild the slides.

The interface of this demo is in German.

Generator, Beispielvorlage

Kopiervorlage

folien_kopiervorlage.txt

How the generator works

1
text file as the only source for titles, text and notes
9
slides, either four core slides or the whole chapter
0
pasted-in images. Every graphic is a native shape
  1. Read The generator reads titles, text and notes word for word from the copy template.
  2. Build Lines, dots, areas, pills and connectors are created as real objects in the document.
  3. Hand over After that, the creative team moves things themselves, in their own tool, without coming back to me.

Anonymised. Client, industry and slide content are not named. What you see is how it is built, not the slide deck.

The problem

Several people work on a pitch. The text moves back and forth between the editorial, creative and account teams. At the end, someone turns it into slides. If a sentence changes after that, there are two versions that drift apart.

What the tool does

It reads a text file with titles, text and notes and builds the slides from it. The text file is the only source. If a sentence changes, the generator runs again and the slides are correct again.

The decision that makes the difference

The graphics are native shapes, not images. Lines, dots, areas, connectors and text boxes are real objects in the document.

The reason: an agency that receives a deck wants to be able to work on it. A pasted-in image is a dead end. With native shapes, the creative team moves a line themselves, in their own tool, without me.

What was awkward about it

Fonts are not embedded. On someone else’s computer the deck looks different, and you only notice in the meeting. That belongs in the handover, not in a footnote.
